odd.

lately i've been saying the words "odd" and "wretched" far more than i should.  these tiny words are so perfect, though.  i mean, every question, statement, and exclamation that flies out of someones mouth can be responded with, "oh, odd." or "that's wretched."

exhibit a: "and then he dumped me, right then and there."
response: "that's wretched."

exhibit b: "would you like to go fishing with me this afternoon?"
response: "oh, that's odd."

exhibit c: "my pinky toe is as long as my big toe!"
response: "how odd and terribly wretched."

those, i suppose, are now my two favorite words.

speaking of favorite words, i have been confused, lately, with the acronym "yolo" on everyone's facebook walls.  don't laugh, i know i'm late to catch on to all this teen slang considering i'm one myself, but it happened, okay? anyway, i figured it out the other day after a wretched (see what i did there? clever, clever.) amount of pestering, and i like it. so there.  yolo, everyone, yolo.

what's your favorite word? i always enjoy a new abundance of fresh vocabulary.

back in my little town.

oh, hello blogger friends. it's been awhile since we've last spoken.  after a week of paradise in puerto penasco, i'm back in utah.  it's bittersweet, really, and although i adore my home, i'd really rather be in mexico.  no worries, no cares; it's heaven on earth.  can you tell it was a lovely little vacation? because it was.

i assure you there are plenty of photographs to come, but for now i'm content flipping through my memories of mexico, editing my film, and searching for apartment necessities because, you know, i'm moving out in four months. cheers to spring break and the lovely people who accompany it.

summer necessities.

maybe i'm a little bit too optimistic about the nearing of the summer season, but frankly, i do not mind.  although we are only in april, i'm already viewing my summer supplies.  i may have a slight case of summer-fever.  no, not spring fever, summer fever.  due to all my summer time optimism, i have compiled a list of items most necessary for the summer season.  ah, dear summer. please do hurry.

(one) an adorable hat.  honestly, what could be better than finding the perfect hat? absolutely nothing.

(two) your perfect summer backpack.  i find roxy does it best.  perfect for holding s'mores supplies, your summertime shades, and coins for the snowcone stands along the road.

(three) the magic of ocean potion lotion. oh, dear me, i could not praise this product enough.  maybe it's because i'm a swimmer, or maybe it's just because one pump of this magic formula gives you a beachy sensation.  whatever the reason, it's the perfect summer lotion.  purchase it at walmart or amazon.  although pesky to track down, it is well worth your time.

(four) the wonderful canon 55mm-250mm lens.  one of my favorite lenses i own.  it has incredible zoom and focusing capabilities, which help you capture every lick of a popsicle and picnic in the park.

(five) the go-to swimming suit.  it's the suit that makes you happy.  enough said.

(six) can't skip the shoes.  i believe sperry makes the ultimate summer shoes.  you can wear them with anything, they're completely breathable, and they're oh-so-comfy.  i can't get enough of my sperry's.

(seven) summertime shades.  i supposed i'm biased, but ray-bans are my favorite.  keeping you looking fly and fresh in every occasion.

(eight) the chapstick. oh, lovely chapstick.  what's worse than burnt, cracked lips? nothing.  solution: carmex chapstick with sunscreen.  chapstick with sunscreen to protect that pucker and keep those babies glossy and kissable.  ooh la la.

what are your summer go-to items?

happy conference.

it's cold and windy and rainy outside, but that's okay because we baked german pancakes and grasshopper cupcakes in our pajamas.  i'm thankful for my lovely little town, the wrinkled men i adore on the television, and grocery stores that are always empty on sundays.

i hope you're enjoying your weekend as much as i am.

new.

the birthing of this new blog is extremely uncomfortable for me.  i have grown somewhat attached to my previous blog, daydream, and am already becoming ill with the thought of losing her.  the reasoning behind this sporadic blog renovation is life.  life in general, really.  i'm in a new stage now, for real this time.  i'm graduating high school, i'm moving out of my home, i'm going to college and joining a new team, meeting new people, having new experiences.  i guess what i'm trying to say here is that, although i very much have loved these first seventeen years of my life, i'm ready to move on to the bigger part of my future.

here's how i'm thinking of it. we fill up entire journals with writing and move on to another notebook, right? this is my new journal, my blog part two.  don't worry, i'm feeling awfully uncomfortable about this, too.  please just bear with me.

to my old readers, i'm glad you're here.  thank you for following me and my crazy, sometimes "holy moly" worthy life. i love you all, honest.

to my new readers, welcome.  i'm sure we will get to know each other along the way.

feel free to comment whatever your little hearts desire. i have an open mind, promise.  also, follow me. wow, was that begging for followers enough? well, you should, even if you don't know me. i don't even get creeped out by that. we can "totes" be friends.

i think this is enough of follower begging.

brittani.
